Chapter 2: Mini Festival at Saxion!

//

Finally, it's my third week in Enschede!
There were lots things happened day by day.
Well, so far I enjoyed every single moment I had during my stay in this lovely city although the weather was getting colder and colder every day (it's still summer, tho. =.=)

Last Monday was the first day in Saxion, and I already had two classes in a day, the first one in the morning and the last one after lunch break (dang!).
So, I've done 5 days of my college in Saxion and honestly I really enjoyed.
The lecturers are very friendly, they are very welcome if you have any questions (they will answer every single question although you think it's a stupid one!), they explain the subject very clear so you can get the point very well, and they have a great sense of humour too! :D
All classes are focused on preparation for graduation thesis, so they are trying hard to help us to find our personal branding so in the end we can get the best company for internship and do the graduation thesis. Sounds hard, but they believe we can do it! :)

Enough with the college life, now I will talk about the main topic of this post. LOL! xD
So, last Tuesday there was a mini festival held in front of Saxion's Main Building during the lunch break (12.00 - 2.00 pm).
There were 5 food stalls that ready to serve you with their delicious dishes, such as HotDog, Granola Bar, Fresh Fruits and Smoothies, and 2 of them were ice cream stalls with 3 different types of flavours, Lemon, Vanilla, and Yoghurt.
Although the wind was like trying to kill and the temperature was extremely cold (for us), the students and lecturers were willing to queue because the foods were all FREE!
Yes, you read it right. FREE!
You can queue and get the food many times (well, that was what my friends did lol!;;)
I tried all of them, and here is what each of them looked like.

1. Granola Bar

Consisted of some nuts and flakes (macadamia, sunflower, etc.) and dried berries with honey and sugar. At first I was doubt because I thought the taste would be horrible, but after I had one, I loved it! The fruit was not really dried so I could taste the real flavour. The bar itself was crunchy, not too difficult to eat. Healthy and yummy! :)

2. Fresh Tropical Fruits

Another healthy food! :D There were several types of fruits in a cup, such as grapes, melon, cantaloupe, strawberry, watermelon, kiwi and pineapple. The grapes, melon, watermelon, and cantaloupe were sweet, but too bad the strawberry and kiwi were quite sour. >_<

3. Hot Dog

If you dog lovers, you must love this dog! (what?)
There were beef sausage in a bun, coleslaw, and pickles, and you can enjoy it with fried shallots, ketchup, and mustard. Soooo yummy! I love the shallots hahahaha! But the pickles were too sour, as well as the mustard >.<;;

4. Yoghurt Ice Cream

Yes, I want to be anti-mainstream so I chose yoghurt ice cream as my dessert. I totally love it! The yoghurt wasn't too sour, but it was still refreshing and smooth.
I know some of you might wonder "Why is the cone green? Is it green tea flavoured cone?"
Well, no. The cone had no flavour. The green colour represented my campus' official colour.

Overall, I really enjoyed the festival very much, and I was even captured by Saxion's journalist! :'D
During the festival, there was a local DJ who made the atmosphere greater and greater!
Such a fun break before another class. :D

Cheers!!

So crowded! :D

Captured by Saxion's journalist. Thank you for the photo! ^_^ <3
